American Heiress on YouTube!!!

I'm sick. It's some kind of stomach thingy and it sucks. I have no appetite. Tuesday I ate a packet of oatmeal and Wednesday I had a packet of oatmeal and peanut butter on toast. Though there are some upsides.

1. My fever is gone and I can sleep.
2. I no longer sleep while hearing the soundtrack to Dreamgirls running on a loop.
3. I can happily quote Emily (Emily Blunt) from The Devil Wears Prada and say, "I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight."
Other good news is that some kind soul uploaded footage from American Heiress onto YouTube. This is the new telenovela I worked on, and since we never get to see footage it's been really exciting. I hope it turns out as exciting as it was in print.

This trailer is from NAPTE so it's more of sales piece than anything else. It covers a lot of the darker and action-oriented material in the show, but there will also be a lot of funny camp bits as well. (Um, hi, I did say I was writing for the show, which means you'll have more than a couple catfights going on right?)

The Heiress herself is Elizabeth, played by Alicia Leigh Willis (she was Courtney on General Hospital). She is the youngest of the four Wakefield children, and you will notice in this clip she is talking to her brother Matthew, played by Robert Buckley of Fashion House fame.

So there you go, Fashion House fans. I couldn't say who was in the show before, but now that it's on YouTube I can. And while I'm at it, I can tell you that the show has...
Hot evil men. (Actually, everyone on the show is pretty damn smokin', I have to say. What's even more exciting, is that they can act.)
We also have our bitchy divas, and this one is Jordan, played by Theresa Russell. From the clips I've seen I can tell you, she's sensational.

I'm told we'll be having new commericials on the air next week, and as soon as they do I'll post links for you. Super excited!

Hey Rick, you know you can't post ANYTHING about MyNetworkTV without me putting my two-cents in!

Anyway, the trailer for AMERICAN HEIRESS looks FABULOUS! The production values look top notch. MyNetworkTV really listened to its critics and fans!

Please don't tell me you've spent your time off just watching TV on DVD and catching up on TiVo. I hope you've had a chance to see Tatum O'Neal go batshit crazy on MyNetworkTV's other camptastic drama, WICKED WICKED GAMES. WWG is much in the style of FH.

This is exciting, I can't hardly wait.

Have you been asked to write anything else for MyNetworkTV? Do you know if Season II will be all telenovelas or will they add reality programming(and scale back the dramas to two nights a week)?

I mean, I'm sorry, but IFL(which I read that MyNetworkTV acquired recently), UFC, and fight leagues like it are all softcore gay porn. I could see that anytime! I want MyNetworkTV 5 Nights a Week! LOL.

Well congrats on HEIRESS and I'll be reading you in the coming weeks.

BTW, I have a few clips uploaded to YouTube of FH. Here are the links:

That third link is awesome, thanks for posting them. I never got to see that episode (I accidentally deleted off the DVR for some reason) but I wrote that one. As a side note, the manicurist is named Minmei, but it's supposed to be pronounced like the character from Robotech; I doubt Bo ever watched the anime series.

No, haven't watched WWG or WOM, and since I'm no longer in the office I don't have much info on the fate of the network. I might hear some stuff once the show is on the air.

But do keep checking back. There's rumors about how American Heiress will be shown and possible rebroadcast of FH. Not sure, trying to find out details now.

Are a lot of people in L.A. sick? I was supposed to interview Nina Hagen last week but she got the flu too, and she lives in L.A.

Now I have to wait for her to get back to Berlin...Boo.

Bloody flus.

Hi Rick, the trailer looks really good and I noticed that it has over 3,000 views. Saints & sinners, the other new show, only has about 400. I thought that was pretty interesting.

I read an article somewhere about how they're changing up mynetwork's schedule when the new telenovelas start airing. Apparently american heiress will only be shown on Tuesday's from 8-10 pm and saints & sinners will be on Wednesdays. I'm sure this is change is due to poor ratings, but I was wondering if you think this new format will help your show be more successful.

Also, will this mean that the show will air over the summer and end sometime in the fall, or do they plan on cutting back on the number of episodes so that it still ends in June? Obviously I'm hoping that all 65 episodes are going to air.

And now I'm concerned that if ratings stay low, then tptb might pull the plug on the novelas altogether before the season gets to end. Do you think this could happen? I hate it when I get into a show and then it gets yanked off the air right when it starts getting good.

I know that's a lot of questions and you probably don't have all the answers, but I'm still curious about what your take is on all this.

Hey Anonymous,

I can answer some questions but I'll be doing it on Monday's blog. Check back then. I usually post in the morning.

But don't worry, my understanding is that everything that has been shot for The Heiress and Saints & Sinners is scheduled to be shown.

More later...
