Dinner with Friends

Steve and I are having a small dinner tonight at the house with brothers Jeff & John, friend Heimlich (yes, he's related to the "maneuver") and casting director, Greg. Nothing fancy, just getting together to relax and swap stories. On the menu...

--herb roasted turkey breast (don't laugh, but it's from Rachel Ray and Food Network)
--homemade pumpkin ravioli in a butter, sage, and toasted hazelnut sauce
--roasted asparagus
--whatever dessert/drinks/appetizers the boys bring.

As Steve and I were making the raviolis last night, I laughed about this second advertisement my sister sent me.
Truth in advertising, no?

Dude, the bestest messican cooking is all about that happy white stuff that turns clear in the frying pan...yuuuuummm!

So when you took your first bite of the turkey did you don a cheshire grin, give a fake moan, and go on and on about how juicy and delicious it was like Ms. Ray does?

It's sad, but Adam is right (not that I moaned, but his description of RR). At first she annoyed when she started on Food Network with her "EVOO" and "YUMMO!" expressions. Then Steve and I started saying them despite ourselves and grew to love her and some of her recipes. Now she's became so frenetic and crazy with all her shows and businesses that we don't watch her that much. We usually see the end of her episode if it's running just before something else we do enjoy watching. If the final product looks yummy, we'll just look up her recipe and try it.

That said, you can't beat this turkey recipe from her "Thanksgiving In Sixty" special. I tell you, it's amazing.
