Another Tragic Ending...

Our Tab Energy drinks are now all gone.
We got turned on by this tasty sensation back when Tab Energy first came out, but bad sales of the product forced the Coca-Cola company to cancel it. In a mad scramble, we raced out to purchase all we could find... but that was like one four pack with an expired coupon on the side.

However, salvation appeared when funny lady Amy Witry revealed that her friend had found numerous packs at an Albertsons and bought them all up. We relished her victory but didn't actually get to partake until our wedding, when Amy showed up with two wrapped four packs as a gift (along with a gift card to Macy's-- so no judging please).
(Here Steve is, pouring our last glass.)

We enjoyed that gift very much. Then Amy showed up with one last surprise on my birthday with her very last two cans. Steve and I slowly rationed them-- even though they had expired in like 2008. Truly, this woman is a giver.

But July 4th weekend Steve and I could resist no longer, and so in honor of our country's independence we popped open the last can, its fizz barely fizzing, and sipped our last Tab Energy cocktail.

So long lady. It was fun while it lasted.
(I'm making Tab and Stoli cocktails in Amy's hotel room before Troy and Craig's wedding.)
(Steve's excited smile when we opened our wedding present from Amy in Sept. 2008.)
(Blog entry from March 2006 when we first got into the drink and did a tribute to Edith Massey.)

Crate & Barrel -- I just saw them in the latest catalogue, too.

Ugh--this makes me so sad! I remember back in olden days when you first introduced me to Tab Energy and vodka. The Coke marketing people BLEW it big time with this! It was delicious and PERFECT for Gays and their Gals. I look forward to the next secret trend you guys introduce me to . . . JUST waiting. :)

Awesome montage of all the great times with TAB energy...You know...you should actually go to the grocery store in PV...I wonder if the really big one down there might not have some...

And in another completely random chapter of my life...there's a comic book store a stone's throw away from my new place (what in seattle? nooo) named Xanadu.
