Crzay Friday Was a Big Success

Crazy Friday was loaded with meetings and all that kind of last-minute work crap that prevents you from leaving the office early. However, as I started stressing about not leaving on time, I had an inspirational thought: Our company was having a party that evening so I should let everyone go early in order to give them time to chill out and get ready (and thus give myself time to get out and to the circus school).

So I did, and they did, and then I did, which got me to the school in time to help set up, do a little rehearsing on a new trapeze, get in costume (look at the cool "dirt" makeup Steve put on me) and perform without too much anxiety.

The fundraiser was for a documentary. It's about an orphanage in Africa that keeps kids safe and in contact with their mothers when the husbands decide the women cheated on them and should go to jail (I'm paraphrasing here, but you get the idea).

As a side note, however, there was a mix up and my music had been deleted before the performance. So Aloysia (my trainer/producer) and the DJ quickly found something that fit my style and I faked it. But it went REALLY well.
Totally not a set up photo. I was sweating and focusing and trying not to rub the makeup off. I can't help it that the muscles are lit so well.
Are you kidding me with this?

It kind of stuns me. I never dreamed I'd be doing circus stuff, much less performing, MUCH MUCH LESS looking good doing it. So this was kind of a triumph. I'm super happy right now.
